Artworks wanted for sale in Art vending machines in Vancouver BC
Outsider Art In A Box vending machines is an artist created project, selling small art works that are dispensed from retired/refurbished vending machines, different artists work is mixed together and sold in a random order. This gives the community audience an opportunity to engage with art in a unique way.
Artworks can be as diverse as:

· Paintings
· Drawings
· Photographs
· Toys
· Print making
· Textiles
· CD/DVD (screen savers, music/sound, animation etc)
· Patches/Badges
· Zines /Comics
· Poetry
· Small Books
· Gadgets
· Jewellery/Accessories
· Etc
· Etc


Outsider Art In A Box Vending Machines will begin with one machine in May 2006 at Ruby Dogs Art House 4738 Main St(between 30th and 32nd, on the East side)
Outsider Art in a Box is an artist created endeavour by Vancouverite Rhonda Simmons , "Art Vending has always intrigued me" , three years ago I read about an American project called "Artomat" and so the idea was deposited in my studio journal. It was my backburner art piece that has finally come into fruition. Art is one of those beautiful expressions that I feel should be accessible to all. Outsider Art in a Box is affordable, direct and accessible to the general public and provides a space for artists of all abilities and ages to distribute their work. This endeavour is family friendly as well can be promoted among groups, individuals and orgizations as a creative challenge.
Outsider Art in a Box is a labour of love and is self sustaining all monies cycle back into the project which has been funded personally by the artist herself. There is a one time Submission Fee of $25.00(sliding scale available$15-$25.more if you can less if you can't) ) the fee is put towards starter kits for accepted work, postage, purchase of new machines, maintenance, advertising and also enables us to give feedback to every application.
Artwork must fit in a box or capsule (so make artwork smaller than the measurements) each filled box or capsule or box should not weigh more than 50g
Capsules are 2" Diagonal Depth
Boxes are Length 4.25" Width 3" Depth 1"
Send a complete sample ready to vend and that fits within our required box or capsule specifications. Foam core is suitable for 2/D artists (painters, printmakers etc) 3/D artists sculptors, jeweller's etc artwork is suitable for ready to vend boxes and capsules.

Make sure your art contains No perishable foodstuffs magnets, balloons or hazard materials. Also, as vending machines are accessible to all age groups, at this time we are not able to accept material with mature subject matter.
